A6 (postcard) puzzles
Ideal if you need a filler in your Church newsletter and may not have a lot of space.
Each ‘batch’ contains 10 puzzles.
Ans-a-gram
The initial letters of the answers (in order) will provide an anagram of the final solution.
Christoku
Sudoku but with nine different letters instead of numbers. One row or column has a Bible word or phrase – a clue is given to help.
Christoku-MiDi
Uses only six different letters instead of numbers. One row or column has a Bible word or phrase – a clue is given to help.
Christoku-mini
Uses only four different letters instead of numbers. One row or column has a Bible word or phrase – a clue is given to help.
Common Link
Each answer contains the same three letters. Reading through the circled letters answers a further question.
Crossoku
Similar to Christoku but contains a shaded cross shape which also has the nine different letters. One row or column has a Bible word or phrase – a clue is given to help.
From the Potter’s Wheel
Four words on a theme, jumbled and placed into pots.
Hidden Word Unscramble
Words on a theme are scrambled. When unscrambled and placed in a grid, reading through shaded squares answers a question.
Mini-crossword
Just five clues to solve in this straightforward crossword.
Mini-wordsearch
Find words on a theme, reading in any direction – including diagonal.
Phone Me
The numbers of a telephone keypad have several letters associated with them. An example is given – then it’s up to you to decode the rest.
Rogue
Anagrams of words on a theme – but with a rogue letter included. Work out the words then read down the rogue letters to answer a question.
Routeword
Answers to clues fit into a grid, staring at the top left and spiralling in. The first letter of the second word is the last letter of the first word and so on.
Spare
The letters of the words of a phrase have been jumbled. The first word has a spare letter that needs to go with the second word – this creates another spare letter and so on. When complete, a Bible quote will result.
Spiderword
Solve the eight 4-letter clues, reading inward. Then read clockwise from 9 to find the final answer.
Take a Letter
The answer to question 2 is an anagram of the answer to question 1, minus one letter and so on to question 4, then the answers are anagrams plus one letter.
Three in Eight
Insert 3-letter words into the spaces to create eight 8-letter words. Then read down the shaded spaces to find the answer to a question.
Three Star
In each of these three star puzzles, use the pairs of letters supplied to create four words in each star. The central pair of letters will be common to all four words. When complete, read across the central pairs to find the answer to a question.
Wordworm
Starting at the shaded square, move to adjacent squares (up, down, left or right but not diagonal) to find words on a theme. (Some puzzles also have circled letters for a hidden word.)
