Printable Bible puzzles for Church newsletters or other not-for-profit publications – or just for your own enjoyment.

These Bible puzzles have plenty of Bible references. Sometimes, these may help you with solving the puzzles (perhaps without a sneaky look at the solutions), or perhaps you may just wish to see where the answers are used in context.

(All Bible references are from the NIV.)

Puzzles include:

Christoku

Sudoku but with nine different letters instead of numbers.

Crosswords

Assorted shape crosswords.

Mini-wordsearch

‘Shape’ puzzles

and many, many more …

If you use a lot of the puzzles and feel that you want to contribute to them in some way, please make a donation to Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF) – they do a great Christian and humanitarian work, using aircraft to reach people in isolated places around the world.

Samson used a riddle to try and gain a new wardrobe.

[Judges 14:12-14]

These puzzles are free to reproduce for personal use, Church, school and many other not-for-profit charitable organisations.

Please do not use my puzzles in for-profit publications without my permission.

Puzzles are a great way to tease your Bible knowledge and, perhaps, to discover something new.

Jesus used a question to pull out a wonderful summary of the law:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind”; and, “Love your neighbour as yourself.”

[Luke 10:26-27]

Each ‘batch’ of  puzzles contains 10 puzzles.

A6 (postcard) size are ideal if you need a filler in your Church newsletter.

Got more space? A5 puzzles can be useful for more substantial publications.

A4  size can be used for larger publications or to print out as ‘ice-breakers’ at events.

Puzzle Time leaflets are ready-to-go leaflets with 3 to 5 different puzzle types. These can be useful to get people chatting about at a coffee morning or to put on an outreach stand (people may be more likely to pick up a puzzle leaflet than they would a tract).

Some Puzzle Time leaflets also collect puzzles together on a theme, such as Easter, Christmas or Jesus and His teachings.

Who is maninhat?

This is me, Andrew Briggs, and, I’m wearing a hat!

My wife (Josie) dubbed me with this moniker when we were researching her first book, Walks in the Wilds of Norfolk (1998), as I always wore a bright blue floppy hat when we were out on our rambles.  It not only served to keep the sun off my fair skin but it made sure she couldn’t lose me.

Of all the pictures in that book, only one showed a person – me, wearing the hat!
